The Body Care Lab respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit The Body Care Lab website, complete our body-care quiz (the "Quiz"), or choose to join our early access list, why we use that information, how it is processed, and what rights you have in relation to your personal data.

2. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
The Quiz
When you complete the Quiz, we collect information including your answers to the Quiz questions, information about your body-care routine, preferences and product-use habits, your calculated Quiz profile, scores and other information derived from your answers, and the date and time of your submission.
The Quiz does not require you to provide your name or email address. Quiz responses are stored in our research database separately from the optional early access signup. The research record does not contain the email address you may later choose to provide. We do not intentionally ask you to provide health information or other special categories of personal data through the Quiz.
Early access and marketing communications
You may choose to join The Body Care Lab early access list either directly through our website or after completing the Quiz.
If you choose to subscribe, we may process your name, email address, location information you choose to provide, marketing consent choice and, where applicable, your Quiz profile and selected information derived from your Quiz responses. This may include your Quiz score, routine-related responses, product-use behaviour, body-care confidence, interest level and main concerns. We may also retain information about when and how you subscribed or withdrew your consent.
Joining the early access list is optional and separate from completing the Quiz. You can complete the Quiz without joining the early access list or subscribing to marketing communications.
Technical information
When you visit or interact with our website, our website and infrastructure providers may process limited technical information needed to operate, maintain and protect the website. This may include your IP address, browser or device information, request and server logs, date and time of access and similar technical information generated through normal website operation.
3. HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?
Quiz research
We use Quiz responses to conduct market and product research, understand body-care routines, habits and preferences, identify common frustrations and unmet needs, analyse patterns across responses, understand how people currently approach body care and inform the development of The Body Care Lab products, formulas, routines, services and customer experience.
Quiz responses are used for research and product-development purposes independently of whether you choose to join our early access list.
Early access and marketing
If you choose to subscribe, we may use your subscriber information to manage The Body Care Lab early access list, send early access information, product-development and launch updates, send relevant marketing communications, understand subscriber interests and where interest in The Body Care Lab is coming from geographically, and make communications more relevant based on information you have provided through the Quiz where applicable.
We may also retain appropriate records of marketing consent and withdrawal. We will not use your personal data for materially unrelated purposes without providing appropriate information and, where required, obtaining further consent or relying on another lawful basis.
4. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING
Different processing activities rely on different legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Quiz and product research
To the extent that information collected through the Quiz constitutes personal data, we process it on the basis of our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Our legitimate interests include conducting market and product research, understanding potential customer needs, understanding body-care habits and preferences, developing and improving The Body Care Lab and evaluating interest in our proposed products and body-care system.
We reduce the privacy impact of this processing by keeping the Quiz research database separate from the optional early access signup and by not storing your email address in the Quiz research record. You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests in certain circumstances.
Early access and marketing communications
Where you choose to join our early access list, we process your subscriber information for early access, product updates, launch-related communications and marketing on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Consent to marketing is separate from participation in the Quiz. Where a consent mechanism is presented, you provide consent by taking the relevant affirmative action before submitting your signup information. You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
Website operation and security
Where technical information processed in connection with our website constitutes personal data, we may process it on the basis of our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in operating, maintaining, securing and protecting our website and services.
5. SEPARATION BETWEEN QUIZ RESEARCH AND EARLY ACCESS SIGNUP
The Quiz research database and the early access subscriber list serve different purposes. When you complete the Quiz, your research response is stored without your email address.
You are not required to join the early access list in order to complete the Quiz or contribute a response to our research. If you subsequently choose to join the early access list, your subscriber information is processed separately from the underlying Quiz research record.
Where you subscribe after completing the Quiz, selected Quiz profile information may be associated with your subscriber record to help us understand subscriber interests and make future communications more relevant. The underlying Quiz research record remains separate and does not contain your email address.
Because the research record is not linked to your email address, we may not always be able to identify a particular Quiz response as belonging to you based solely on your name or email address. We do not add identifying information to research records solely for the purpose of identifying individual respondents.
6. AUTOMATED QUIZ RESULT
The Quiz automatically calculates a body-care profile and related scores based on the answers you select. The result provides general informational feedback, helps you understand your current body-care habits and supports The Body Care Lab's market and product research.
The Quiz result is not intended to provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is not used to make decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects concerning you.
7. HOW IS YOUR INFORMATION STORED AND PROCESSED?
The Body Care Lab currently uses third-party services to operate the website, Quiz infrastructure and early access communications.
Framer
Our website is created and hosted using Framer. Framer may process technical information necessary to host, deliver, operate and protect the website.
Supabase
We use Supabase for database and backend infrastructure relating to the Quiz. Completed Quiz research responses are stored in Supabase. The Quiz research record does not contain the email address you may separately provide when joining our early access list.
EmailOctopus
We use EmailOctopus, operated by Three Hearts Digital Ltd, to manage our early access list and send early access, product-development, launch-related and marketing communications.
Information submitted when joining the early access list may be processed through EmailOctopus where necessary to manage subscribers and send those communications. Where applicable, selected Quiz profile information may also be associated with your early access subscriber record.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse.
8. SERVICE PROVIDERS AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
We use third-party service providers where necessary to operate The Body Care Lab website, research infrastructure and communications.
Our principal service providers are Framer for website creation, hosting and delivery, Supabase for database and backend infrastructure relating to the Quiz, and EmailOctopus / Three Hearts Digital Ltd for early access list management and marketing communications.
These providers may engage authorised subprocessors in connection with the services they provide.
Personal data may in some circumstances be processed in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism recognised under applicable law. This may include an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards or another legally recognised mechanism.
9. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, taking into account our business needs and applicable legal obligations.
Quiz research data
Quiz research data is retained for as long as it remains reasonably necessary for market research, product development, analysing body-care needs and preferences and developing The Body Care Lab. We will delete or anonymise research information when it is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes, unless retention is required by law.
Early access and marketing data
Your early access subscriber information is retained while you remain subscribed to The Body Care Lab communications. You may unsubscribe at any time.
Unless there is another lawful reason to retain particular information, we currently intend to retain early access information until the launch of The Body Care Lab and for no longer than 12 months following the launch.
Limited information may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance with legal obligations, including records relating to marketing consent or withdrawal of consent.
10. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS AND WITHDRAWING CONSENT
You can withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in our marketing emails or contacting us at hello@thebodycarelab.com.
Once you unsubscribe, we will stop sending you marketing communications.
Withdrawal of marketing consent does not automatically require deletion of a Quiz research response that is processed separately for research purposes under a different legal basis. You may separately exercise any rights that apply to the processing of your Quiz research data.
11. YOUR DATA-PROTECTION RIGHTS
Under the GDPR, depending on the circumstances and the type of processing involved, you may have the right to request access to personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, request deletion or restriction of processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, object to direct marketing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, request certain personal data in a portable format and lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.
These rights are not absolute and may apply differently depending on the circumstances and the legal basis for processing.
Because Quiz research responses are stored without your email address, we may not be able to identify a particular Quiz response as yours based solely on your email address. If you make a request relating to a Quiz response, we may ask you for information reasonably necessary to determine whether the relevant record can be identified.
We will not seek to collect additional identifying information solely to identify an otherwise non-identifiable research record unless required by applicable law.

12. COMPLAINTS
If you are located in Hungary, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH), 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9-11, email: ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu.
You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority in the EU or EEA country where you live, work or believe an infringement of data-protection law has taken place.
13. SECURITY
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the personal data we process against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, accidental or unlawful loss, destruction and misuse.
However, no internet-based system or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we will assess the incident and take the steps required under applicable data-protection law.
14. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy as The Body Care Lab develops, our website or services change, our service providers change or our data-processing practices or legal obligations change.
The latest version will be made available on this page together with the date on which it was last updated. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain new consent before materially changing how personal data is processed.

We use cookies and similar technologies where necessary to operate, secure and provide our website and, where you choose to consent, to understand how visitors use the website and improve the experience.
Some cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and do not require your consent. Optional cookies, including analytics cookies where used, are activated only where you have provided the required consent through our cookie banner.
Depending on the technologies used, information processed may include your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, date and time of visits, interactions with the website and similar technical and usage information.
You can accept or reject optional cookies through the cookie banner and, where available, change your cookie preferences later.
